NBL experience added to Brisbane Capitals Program

In a coup for the Brisbane Capitals QBL program the man they call “Biggie” will head up the administration and organisation of the QBL for the 2013 season. Big Joe Tertzakian who served as the manager for Gold Coast Blaze and Brisbane Bullets will fill the role of QBL Operations Manager at BBI starting as soon as he gets back from the NBL All Star game.

Joe brings with him a wealth of experience and will ensure that the Brisbane Capitals game night’s will again be one of the best nights out for the family. His connections both around the NBL and Basketball Queensland community will ensure that many will flock to see what surprises the Caps will have to offer this season “all I see are some wonderful surprises, unexpected twists and see where it leads us…either way, I guarantee we’ll be competitive, we’ll have a good BBI local contingent and like I said… maybe a surprise or two…”.

This announcement alongside the appointment of Geoff Tarrant as Head Coach of the Men’s side with WNBL Star Kristen Veal again leading the Women means that the buzz around BBI is definitely growing.

Big Joe on what the fans can expect in 2013 “Caps fans can expect a HUGE launch and engagement of former Caps, Brewers & Blaze players and staff”. He also hopes to build on the ‘Caps in the Community Program’ that last year saw the Caps men and women strengthen their ties with the local community, its members and the clubs “all QBL players will be involved with junior clubs this coming season, so each player will hopefully become a household name within the BBI juniors and it’ll encourage them to come and watch their idols play” Tertzakian went onto say.

When asked why he was most excited that he had made a home at where basketball in Queensland first started he said “BBI has always had a rich tradition in the past, it’s the biggest association in the State and has been very successful at various levels and I wanted to bring my acquired skills to move BBI further forward to make it best association Nationally.”
