Thank You to Tracey Wroe

It is with a great deal of sadness that Brisbane Basketball General Manager has resigned from her position effective as of the end of November. Tracey will be relocating to Townsville with her family to spend more time with her husband Michael and daughter Breya.
We thank Tracey for tireless work ethic and devotion to Brisbane Basketball over the past few years.

Tracey has seen BBI through thick and thin, managing to keep the best interests of basketball in brisbane at the forefront of any tasks that had to be done. In 2011 leading a group of loyal volunteers, passionate supporters and local businesses, Tracey was able to see Brisbane Basketball reborn post the January floods that swamped what was formerly Vince Hickey Stadium and now stands as NAB Stadium. Such a catastrophic event took only 3 months as Brisbane played host to the Queensland U14 Boys State Championships.

Under her guidance Brisbane also hosted one of the most successful Australian Championships in the last decade with 24 teams travelling into Brisbane for the U14 Boys Club Championships. In that same month of September the NBL came back to Brisbane in a big way with the NBL Blitz game between Sydney Kings and Adelaide 36ers, as well as a last minute decision to host the Gold Coast Blaze v Cairns Taipans pre-season game at NAB Stadium.

Tracey's commitment to Brisbane Basketball at no stage waivered and whilst there will always be those who choose to pull down those of us who strive forward, Tracey has been the catalyst for many things at Brisbane Basketball to move forward and grow.

Our junior representative numbers have never been higher, the QBL and D League programs have seen much success in the last few years and with plans in place to take Brisbane back to the top our future Caps will continue to be the best in Queensland.

The stadium has seen major changes like the refurbishment to Caps Cafe, the stadium has renewed its liquor license and as it stands NAB Stadium meets all WH&S guidelines to provide a safe, fun environment for everyone.

She has built a team of dedicated loyal staff who are continuously looking for ways to improve in their roles everyday as well as understand that sometimes your greatest successes are the ones that go unnoticed. The operations of Brisbane Basketball continues to be on the cutting edge of sports administration with processes and policies that set the path for many other associations in Queensland to follow.

The greatest achievement that Tracey has left for Brisbane Basketball is not what has happened yet but the vision of what is still to come. And even if only part of that is to come to fruition then Brisbane Basketball will stand as one of the most successful basketball association's in Australia for a very long time.

Thank you and Good Luck Tracey you will be forever part of the BBI family.
