Capitals with strong performances at 18's National Championship

The following players were part of the Bronze medal winning QLD U/18 Women's team who were one of the favourites for the tournament and except for one game were untouchable all week. With several of the girls having experienced being part of a medal winning side before these girls all week were making extra passes sacrificing for the good of the team and were a team on a mission. In the semi final a red hot Vic Metro managed to build an early lead and unfortunately the girls from QLD South were unable to catch up. In the Bronze medal game with some wounds the girls came out with a point to prove dispatching of Victoria Country 59-50. The Capitals were represented by:

Steph Bairstow, Lorna Shepherd, Molly Windsor, Pam Hamilton-Smith (Head Coach), Jacqui McConnell (Manageress)

The QLD South U/18 Men finished the week falling just short of a medal after battling their way through a tough pool in which they had to fight all the way against the highly favoured Vic Metro and then hold at bay a fast finishing NSW Country boys with a place in the top four up for grabs. The boys were able to get wins when it really counted and down the stretch in the game against NSW Country come up trumps in a game that had to go to overtime to decide the second placed team in the pool. The Capitals were represented by:

Nick Chia, Oscar Lin, Tim Weigh, Dave Mitchell (Head Coach)
