Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association, Junior Male Athlete of 2018.

 

 

The Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association Annual Awards for 2018 were presented at a brunch at Kedron-Wavell Services Club in Brisbane last Sunday, 17 February.

Mackay Machines wheelchair basketballer, Brayden Foxley-Conolly received the award for Junior Male Athlete of the Year.  This award encompasses young Sporting Wheelies members in all sports across the state.

 

This award caps off a great year for the fourteen year old.  Brayden is a member of Rolling Thunder, the Qld Juniors Squad and a member of the Australian Under 23 Development Squad.

 

His competition awards in 2018 were --

 

Kevin Coombs Cup  (Junior Nationals)

Bronze Medal

 

Classics  (Qld State Championships – open age comp)  

A Grade All Star Five

 

Northern Challenge (North Qld Championships – open age comp)

All Star Five. (Second consecutive year)

Most Improved Player  (Third consecutive year)

Brayden was also runner-up to the MVP for the second year at this event.

 

Mackay can see the Mackay Machines in action on 30 and 31 March.
