The Mandurah Basketball Association Inc. in the Peel Region was established over 32 years ago and is affiliated to Basketball WA and Basketball Australia. It is one of the largest basketball clubs in South West of Western Australia with over 1000 members ranging from primary school age to senior men’s and women’s grades. Our strength and focus has been the development of players at the junior age and we have had phenomenal growth over the past few years. Our Association requires a Basketball Development Officer/ Administrator to head up our successful junior and senior programs in the Peel region with an immediate start to the successful applicant.
Applications are sought from candidates with a background in basketball and a passion for coaching and developing players of all ages.
The role involves working in the wider community with players, coaches, managers, supporters, referees and school administrators. Duties include planning and implementing competitions and other programmes related to the development of the sport and tasks are many and varied e.g. in-schools coaching, skills clinics, organizing club teams, recruitment of volunteers, web site, newsletters, financial responsibilities etc. Experience in budgeting and spreadsheets would be useful. The ability to seek out new club opportunities and attain goals is paramount.
The successful applicant would report to the Mandurah Basketball Association Board and would liaise regularly with the Basketball WA.
