LISA BRENNAN TO LEAD THE FLAMES
The Townsville Flames have announced this morning the return of their leader on the court with Lisa Brennan committing to captain the team in the inaugural NBL1 North Season.
Brennan has been a constant performer and voice of experience for the Flames for a number of seasons and will return to the court after one of her most consistent seasons in 2019.
The Brennan family will be ready to juggle their family ties with husband Luke again leading the team as Head Coach in 2020.
“I can’t wait to play with this group this season. We have a great mixture of experience and the youth that I have been able to both play alongside and help coach in the State and Townsville programs over the last couple of years”, said Lisa Brennan.
“We were devastated after last year’s semi-final loss to the Gold Coast and are determined to win the first NBL1 North title this year.”
Head Coach Luke Brennan is again looking forward to working alongside his wife despite the challenges that come along with it.
“Early in the season last year there were probably a few tense car trips home after training and games but as the season went on I think we found a good balance to manage between basketball and life”, said Brennan.
“The role Lisa may play this year with our strong back court may be a little more in the forward position which we are very confident she can do.”
