This weekend's Junior Fixtures dedicated to the POlp Campaign

Townsville Basketball and it’s seven affiliated clubs will be dedicating this coming weekend (7 & 8 September 2012) to the Positive or its Pointless Campaign. This weekend of junior fixtures will be all about creating a positive experience and sending the message that poor and unacceptable player and spectator behaviour is not tolerated in basketball.

Throughout the weekend Clubs will be awarding one player from each of their teams with the “Best and Fairest” title. These players will be awarded a certificate for their continual display of respect and great sportsmanship not only to their team mates and coach but also to their opposition and the referees.

Each Club will also be awarding a number of their team supporters and parents with the “Positive Supporters Award” in recognition for their positive and fair support displayed to all involved and at all games.

All presentations will take place after each game time slot. The presentation area will be between the courts 2 & 3 area where the POlp banner is hanging. Attending throughout the day to assist will be players from the NBL Townsville McDonald’s Crocodiles, WNBL Townsville McCafe Fire and our QBL Townsville McDonald’s Heat and Dennis’ Computers Townsville Flames.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
