Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association are looking for people to fill the following positions in 2012 for the Townsville Wheelchair Basketball Program

• ·                     Head Coach
• ·                     Team Manager/Assistant Coach
• ·                     Program Officer/Manager

Note: The Head Coach or Program Officer/Manager may be in a paid position based on time program is run (awaiting final approval Jan 31, 2012)

The Head Coach will be required to provide coaching to the Townsville Cyclones Squad throughout the year and prepare the team for the annual Northern Challenge and other events that could include the State Championships and SLAM Down Under. It would be ideal for the applicant to hold a current Level 1 or 2 Coaching Accreditation in Basketball (or willingness to acquire qualification).              

Assistant Coach/Team Manager will provide support and assistance to the Head Coach and squad members. Preferred however not mandatory, the applicant will hold a current Level 1 or 2 Coaching Accreditation in Basketball (or willingness to acquire qualification), but not essential.    

The Program Officer will co-ordinate the Townsville wheelchair basketball program to ensure positive outcomes for participants. The Program Officer would report to the Regional Development Officer.
