Applications Open - Junior & Senior (CBL) Warriors Coaches 2018-19

Applications are now invited for the following positions in our Warriors/CBL representative program:

  • Junior Warriors coaches – each age group (U12-U18) boys & girls
  • Senior CBL coaches – Men and Women
The Board of Wangaratta Basketball Inc is committed to providing our players with professional, skilled and dedicated coaching personnel. In order to attract coaches whose expertise and commitment are assets to the program this year, we are proud to be able to offer a structured development and mentoring program for our coaches at both local and BVC level.

It is expected & for our Division 1 Coaches going to State Championships, a requirement, that our ALL our Rep coaches have a minimum of Club Coach (Level 1) National Coaching Accreditation (or are undertaking this qualification).
However, this year we are extending our Representative Coaching and the associated training out to all coaching levels and would be especially keen to talk to those people who have coached at Domestic level. Are you interested in expanding your skills and looking at assisting with coaching in the Representative (Junior Warriors/CBL) Programs?

We are looking for coaches, assistant coaches and also those who are interested in gaining there Community Coach (Level 0) and Club Coach (Level 1) National Coaching Accreditation Qualification!

In recognition of the time you offer to our Basketball Association, we would like to offer you the opportunity to complete the Community Coach (Level 0) and Club Coach (Level 1) National Coaching Accreditation Qualification at a significantly discounted rate (subsidised by WBI). We are also able to offer ongoing support and development when you volunteer within the organisation.

Get in quick as spots will fill up fast!

All coaches must have a current Working with Children Check.
The minimum age for Head Coaches is 20 years of age, and for Assistant Coaches the minimum age is 17 years.
A number of factors are considered in the allocation of coaches to teams, including:
  • Applicant (coach) preference
  • Coach’s experience and qualifications
  • The number of consecutive years a coach has been appointed to a cohort of players
  • A coach’s commitment to the Warriors/CBL program and willingness to work as a team
  • A coach’s commitment to the local (domestic) basketball program
  • A coach’s general conduct and level of professionalism
  • A coach's capacity to commit to the development and mentoring program offered by WBI

While coach preference is high on the agenda, the big picture may not accommodate all requests.

Thank you for considering to apply for a Warriors/CBL coaching position. We are looking forward to the season ahead and hope that you can join us on the journey.

APPLICATIONS CLOSE TUESDAY 26TH JUNE @ 5PM. INTERVIEWS WILL BE HELD THE WEEKEND OF 30TH JUNE.
