Coaching opportunities in Southern NSW

Want to coach the best in Southern NSW?

Want to help develop the next generation of Southern players?

There are great opportunities on offer to coach talented players in the upcoming Football NSW Boys Youth League, Metro League, Women’s & Girls Leagues in the 2012 season.

All coaches are expected to have a strong developmental philosophy and support the FFA’s National curriculum. The primary purpose of the FNSW Boys Youth League, Metro League and Women’s and Girls Leagues is to provide players with an opportunity to further develop their skills in an environment where the best play with the best. The focus is on player understanding of their role within the game and results are secondary to the learning and developing technical and tactical aspects of Football.

Players will be identified in conjunction with a Regional Coaching & Development Manager and selections based on the players technical and tactical ability ensuring late developers are considered based on potential rather than physical ability.

All teams will be required to play within a 1-4-3-3 system and players will need to learn the role of relevant positions within a team structure.

An ideal coach will demonstrate patience whilst providing supportive, positive and challenging football experience throughout the season both at training and games.

The coach will be required to deliver and modify football practices where players are challenged to discover solutions to a range of game situations. This method has been identified as the most successful in developing skilful, thinking players and the outcome is a far more embedded understanding of the game.

Positive comments and feedback will encourage players to experiment and discover solutions through trial and error rather than experience negative feedback that identifies errors and discourages experimentation.

Southern NSW will support coaches through the Regional Coaching & Development Manager and also provide access to individual coaching development opportunities.

To apply please e-mail James Muir, Regional Coaching & Development Manager, Football NSW - Southern Branch at southern@footballnsw.com.au or call 0401 282 951 for further details.
