Cailem Ryan, a member of the Highlands Football Club - Youth/Under 20's/Reserve Grade team will shortly be winging his way to Fiji to take part in the Fiji Soccer Cup.

Cailem will be participating in this elite tournament where under 17 players travel to Fiji to compete and gain experience on the international stage.

Cailem will be involved in coaching clinics prior to departure as well as further coaching clinics whilst away. He will be meeting with community members and visiting schools to promote and assist the progress of football in developing nations.

Potential teams include the Fiji National team, New Caledonia, teams from Australia includng ACT State Team, Rockdale City Sons- Premeir League side and the Brisbane strikers.

This tournament comes under the auspices of FIFA and at the invitation of the Fiji Football Association in their efforts to improve the game in their country and to prepare their under 7 squad for future international competition.

"This is a fantatsic experience for Cailem not only as an individual footballer, but he will also be able to promote Highlands Football Club on a worldwide stage", said Highlands Football Club Director of Coaching, Nick D'Amore. "He will also bring back knowledge and experience that he will be able to share with other members of the club and Highlands Association."

Cailem is seeking sponsorship to help with his expenses in order to accept this prestigious invitation and will be departing Australia late September 2011.
