This weekend, Sheldon Park, Belfast, sees the Irish code go one up on AFL with a Club Championship, with clubs from around New Zealand competing. The game is fast and physical and very similar to AFL. If the game is as intense as some of the local games have been, then it will be sure to entertain. Games start from around 10 AM on Saturday. Given that they play in our off season, it is a great way to keep in shape should you want to take up the code. Some of the skills are unique, with the "foot tap" and the bounce every 4-steps. Scores are either "over", or "under". This could be a great opportunity to recruit some talent for the 2014 season. Even the ladies are into the Gaelic game and they mean business.
