Referee Coach

The Referee Coordination Council (RCC) is seeking applications for the 2020 Referee Coach position. The position description is outlined below. Please submit your application outlining your referee qualifications and experience to referees@footballsouthcoast.com by COB Monday 23rd March 2020.

Role: Referee Coach
Reports to: Referee Coordination Council
How does the job add value?:

  • Ensures referees are provided with the ongoing education and development to assist them to be at a standard required to meet the needs of the game
  • Ongoing development of referees to meet the needs of the game

Role Objectives:

  • Develop, carry out or and/or facilitate coaching and education sessions at the direction of the RCC and feedback from assessors
  • Support development of referees to progress to their full potential
  • Maintain a good working relationship with the members and RCC
  • Overall improvement in the standard (performance and behaviour) of referees
  • Ensure always up-to-date with Laws of the Game

Role Deliverables:

  • Ensure the delivery of one coaching session/month; eight/season
  • Ad hoc coaching sessions as considered appropriate by the RCC
  • Coaching session material and videos uploaded on the FSC website
  • Provide RCC with a coaching session critique
  • Contribute to the overall performance of the referees
  • Work with the Council to develop a network of members suitably skilled to conduct sessions across the full range of Membership

Dimensions:

  • The role is defined by all matters associated with coaching of referees

Authorities:

  • Prime responsibility for delivering and/or facilitating the agreed coaching sessions

Accountabilities:

  • Professional delivery of the defined coaching sessions
  • Delivery of the Laws of the Game as specified by FIFA/IFAB

Note: The Referee Coach should have a minimum of 5 years refereeing experience at a senior level within a minimum of FSC Premier League and at a minimum hold L3 Referee, and/or be working towards obtaining Assessor and specifically Instructor qualifications.
