Christmas has come early for a number of AFL organisations on the Sunshine Coast, with the successful applicants of Round 2 of the Queensland Governments ‘Get in the Game’ grant funding being announced today. A number of AFL organisations on the Sunshine Coast will see some much needed funding injected into their club accounts in early 2014.
- Maroochydore AFC Inc will receive $9,693 to provide administration and governance training, coach education and purchase equipment to support AFL at Maroochydore.
- Nambour and Hinterland AFC Inc will receive $3006 to conduct an introductory skills development program for new participants, volunteer accreditation, undertake membership promotion and purchase first aid equipment to support AFL at the club.
- North Shore JAFC Inc also will receive $7,767 to conduct a series of come and try activities, accredit volunteers and conduct a promotional campaign to introduce a girl’s team to support AFL at Mudjimba
- AFL on the Sunshine Coast will see a further boost with $10,000 of funding being provided to conduct a series of come and try programs, skills sessions and new competitions for children with disabilities to participate in AFL on the Sunshine Coast.
In total, AFL organisations on the Sunshine Coast will receive over $30,000 from the state government to deliver programs to increase participation numbers, purchase equipment and promote our game on the Sunshine Coast.
