I had my first KinderKick experience this morning as I joined our KinderKick extraordinaire, Louise Christian in the sand pits and play area of Eumundi GoodStart Early Learning Centre.
Lou and I ran two sessions with seven kids in each group, this week’s session consisted of an activity course which had the kids balancing, jumping, marching and changing directions, followed by a throwing exercise and finally an introduction to an AFL football and kicking for the first time.
All the kids had a great time, smiling and laughing whilst exercising and learning fundamental movement skills.
To be honest, I arrived ready for loud screaming, runny noses and out of control children. Instead I left wanting to go back next week, learning there’s truly nothing better than introducing the game that has given me so much to kids for the first time.

What is KinderKick?
Throughout the program children will learn fundamental motor skills designed to target children aged three to five years.
Kinderkick features specific lesson plans to assist and enhance the development of each child’s physical and social well being.
The children will complete an appropriate game based warm-up and then participate in fun target skill activities such as catching, throwing, balancing, crawling etc. before concluding with some calming activities.
What are the benefits?
During their participation in our Kinderkick programs, children develop and grow physically and emotionally, through innovative, fun drills and sequential activities, seeing children develop coordination, balance and concentration.
With the incorporation of a variety of games, children learn to follow instructions, work as part of a team and develop their self-confidence and imagination.
Who can participate in Kinderkick?
Any children from three to five years of age at the early childhood centre can participate in our Kinderkick sessions. Our focus is enjoyment and involvement for each and every child who participates with us.
