Late last year AFL Clubs across the Sunshine Coast submitted grant applications for Sport and Recreation Active Inclusion funding.
Congratulations to the following clubs who received funding ranging from $2,500 to $4,500 to support volunteer development and encourage greater participation.

Bribie Island Junior AFC
Caloundra AFC
Coolum Beach JAFC
Kawana Park JAFC
Maroochy Roos JAFC
North Shore JAFC
Suncoast Power AFC
Funding was made available for up to $5,000 per club for projects that support sport and recreation organisation with delivering activities to encourage participation in sport and active recreation by the general community.
Through this funding the approved applicants will be able to support volunteer education and training opportunities through specific TAFE course, recognition incentives, coaching courses and first aid courses.
Club Development Officer, Paul Tresise said that this funding is crucial to the success of AFL clubs across the Sunshine Coast.
“Through this funding made available by the Queensland Government the hard working volunteers at Club Land are able to be duly recognised and provided with the opportunity to access further training and education,” Mr Tresise said.
“The Queensland Government is supportive of the sport and recreation industry across the state and it is valuable programs like this that are really worthwhile for the sustainability of sporting clubs.”
