AFL Sunshine Coast Juniors 2010 Club of the Year, Kawana Park Eagles have been boosted further with the installation of four beaming lights- giving players the opportunity to experience night time football.
The members of Kawana Park JAFC are thrilled with the installation of four light stands beaming across the field.
Club President, Paul Meehan said that the lights mean a lot to the AFL community on the Sunshine Coast and has boosted the morale of kids and parents alike around the club.
“It is fantastic to be able to play night footy, it’s what footy is all about- having a kick with your mates and having you family and friends any time of the day,” Mr Meehan said.
“Training later at night has helped out enormously. It has given our coaches and team management staff more time to cater to the kids and has created a community club environment where the kids love to come on training nights.”
Councillor Keryn Jones will be attending the official turning on of the lights at Kawana Park on Friday June 17 at 4:30pm for a tour of the facility (Kawana Waters State College, Sportsmans Parade Bokarina) followed by flicking of the switch 4:45pm and the Under 10’s kicking off at 5:30pm.
