On Tuesday May 31, twelve schools from around the Sunshine Coast competed in the annual Carol Berry Cup where over 130 girls from years 6 & 7 enjoyed the day. It was great to see so much enthusiasm and love for the game along with some fantastic weather, which added to the girls enjoyment.
All games were contested in fantastic spirit and enjoyment and after a full day of play, it came down to Pacific Paradise and Palmwoods State School in the Grand Final. Both teams had been undefeated all day and it was a really great game of football that went right down to the final 30 seconds, with Pacific Paradise running away as 8 point winners. Best on Ground for Pacific Paradise was Aqua Meanie with a great display up forward and Ivy Wood took best player for Palmwoods. Ivy earlier on in the day took a massive “hanger” over a Kuluin State School opponent that really showed the skills the girls have for the game.
Pacific Paradise will now head down to Zillmere on Wednesday June 22, to compete in the Pool Finals against 2 other winning schools from Brisbane North & Brisbane South East.
