The 2009 West Adelaide Bearcats Basketball Club Mid Year Carnival will be held from Thursday 9
The carnival is primarily for Division 2 and below in the Under 12 to Under 18 boys and girls age groups and any divisions in the Under 10 age group.
Teams currently playing in Division 1 in the Under 12 to Under 18 Metro District Basketball SA competition may enter but will be required to enter an age group above their current playing age group.
ie. Under 12 West Adelaide Div 1 boys team may enter in the Under 14 age group competition.
As the StateâÂÂs only Metro Mid Year Carnival, we attract teams from across South Australia, creating an exciting and fun competition for Division 2 and below players to experience an awesome carnival predominantly for them.
The Mid Year Carnival will be organised in one pool for each age group and gender unless there are enough teams in an age group to create 2 pools. Age groups/pools will run only if there are sufficient entries for the age group, which we will endeavour to confirm as soon as possible. However, teams booking accommodation in anticipation do so at their own risk.
All grades will run on 1 hour time slots. This will allow all teams to experience more fun without the added pressure of championship rules.
All teams are guaranteed a minimum of four games.
Trophies and medallions will be presented to the winners and runners up in every grade.
All players in Under 10 grades will receive participation medals.
All Grand Final winners and runner ups will have their trophies presented immediately following their grand final game.
The exception being for West Adelaide Bearcat and Central District LionâÂÂs Grand Final winners which will have the option of having their trophies presented during the half time break of the respective CABL game being held at Port Adelaide stadium on Sunday 12
Accredited umpires will referee all games. Should any team have basketball referees wishing to officiate during this weekend, please contact carnival@bearcats.net.au
