23 May: State Championships wrap up

Congratulations to all the Lions: players, coaches, team managers, parents and supporters involved in the state championships.

This year was our most successful State Championships yet, and we are also able to demonstrate significant improvement as a club.  While we are happy with our development of the club, our progress doesn't end here.  We have so many great people involved with the Lions and we owe it to each other to continue our amazing growth and development as a basketball club.  This will come through hard work, lots of challenges and fun along the way.

Particular congratulations to Coach Trudy Ireland and the U14 Div 1 Girls.  The girls have made the state championships semi-finals and will receive an invite to the Melbourne Classics held in June.  We understand that this team will be the first Lions team in history to compete in the Classics.  With the ongoing development of our other teams and players we are sure there will be many more teams make the Classics next year.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
