SA Country Basketball 2012 - 13th Pacific Coast Slam
SA Country Basketball at 2012 Pacific Coast Slam held in Port Macquarie
SA Country Basketball competed in the 13th Pacific Coast Slam held in Port Macquarie from 16th-21st of January 2012.
SA Country sent 4 teams U/15 Boys and Girls as well as U/17 Boys and Girls. 40 players, 8 coaches, 4 team managers, 4 referees and 1 referee coach represented South Australia.
Congratulations to all who competed with special mentions to referee Renai Fejo (BSA – Gold Medal Game U/15 Girls). The U/15 SAC Girls went through to the Gold Medal Game undefeated to play NSW Waratahs. The game was tight early with the girls taking control in the last quarter to win 64-48. First time SA Country coach Glen Hosking (Barossa Valley) said “the girls were great and a pleasure to coach and went from strength to strength throughout the week.
U/17 Girls coached by Shaun Bell (Eastern Hills) also played in the Gold Medal Game which was a thriller with the girls going down in overtime 71-81 to Southern Districts.
