Women - NT Vs SA Country: 18 Women pool A

SA Country produced a comfortable win against the Northern Territory to open their championship account. The Country girls were victors by 45 points with their height and experience playing a major factor in the result. SA led comfortably at every change with Emma Hooley leading a well balanced scoring attack. Michelle Ellis’ 13 points provided some resistance for the NT girls but a much more experienced outfit in SA was never challenged.

Final Score: SA Country 90 def NT 45

Men - SA Country Vs ACT: 18 Men Pool B

The SA Country boys started their week with a big win over the ACT. The 18 point win came on the back of a brilliant first half as the Country boys led 32-14 at the main break. Even though ACT conceded a big lead they showed positive signs in the second half as they stuck with the SA Country boys. Scott Grenville led SA Country with 25 points while Daniel Beames led ACT with 14.

Final Score: SA Country 77 def ACT 59
