Regional Talent Squad Camps
Regional Talent Squad Camps
Port Augusta - Bordertown
April 2013
Over 100 junior basketballers attended the annual SA Country Regional Talent Squad camps held in Port Augusta (North) and Bordertown (South). The camps are for invited athletes only, and are a pivotal part of the SA Country Elite athlete identification process. The U/13 Regional Talent Squad program is a key component of SA Country Basketball’s representative player identification and development strategy. The program was established because of an identified need for a more systematic, thorough and unified approach to identify and develop outstanding junior Basketballers (born 2001) and assist and develop their mental skills, individual skills and team concepts which will aid them to compete successfully at Representative level. Selected Athletes are given an experience of what is required to be a part of our representative programs in the future. With the emphasis on a strong skill base, discipline and work ethic that becomes an important part of our State Program teams. Our prime objective is the development of all athletes attending, with the hope that players enjoy the experience and leave with clear pathway and the necessary goals to compete at the next level.
The Regional Talent Squad Program along with the Development Network Squad Program (DNSP) is an integral part in SA Country Basketball’s vision to becoming a leader in basketball development for Country based athletes. SACBC would like to acknowledge and thank both the Port Augusta and Bordertown Basketball association’s for hosting these events and the many Regional coaches that helped make these camps a success.
Athlete Performance
Following both Regional Camps, coaches selected the 2013 RTS All-star teams. These teams are made up of the best performing athletes from both the North and South camps.
