The Adelaide 36ers and SA Country have been working together to bring South Australia’s NBL basketball team, the Adelaide 36ers, out to the regions. Together, SA Country and the Adelaide 36ers are promoting basketball and have been encouraging children and adults to take part in school, social and association basketball.

Club MVP Daniel Johnson headed to Millicent and Murray Bridge in May to take part in school clinics and high performance trainings. On-court captain Stephen Weigh headed up to the Eastern Hills Schools in May to help with school clinics.

Adelaide 36ers Chief Executive Officer Leeanne Grantham said that it is important for the state associations and national league teams to work closely together to help promote basketball to the population of South Australia. “Even though we are all separate entities, we all have the same common goal; to encourage people to participate in and follow basketball. Both adults and children have dreams and goals, and our players inspire them to continue down the path of leading a healthy lifestyle, appreciating team work, respecting others and setting goals. They each have a great story to tell, while at the same time, showcase their skills as an elite basketballer.”

The Adelaide 36ers encourage people to get behind the team in 2012/13, when the goal is to win the iiNet NBL Championship. Games commence in October.
