SA Country Basketball at 2012 Australian Junior Country Basketball Cup held in Albury/Wodonga
SA Country Basketball competed in the 26th AJCBC from the 16th-21st of January sending 12 teams comprising of 120 players, 24 coaches, 16 team managers, as well as 12 referees and 5 referee coaches.
Congratulations to all who competed with the U/14, 16 and 18 Boys and Girls teams. Special mention to referees John Daniels from Whyalla (gold medal game U/14 Girls) and Matthew McLoughlin from Murray Bridge (gold medal game U/18 Boys) for their achievements.
U/14 Girls SA Sharks (6-0) Played SA Magpies (5-1) in the gold medal game. This matched up long serving SA Country Coaches Trevor Semmens - Sharks (Mt Gambier) and Glen (Matho) Mathieson – Magpies (Naracoorte). The game was truly an epic contest with the game remaining close throughout with the Sharks defeating the Magpies 47-42.
From these development carnivals, AJCBC and PCS the U/18 national training squad for the 2012 National Championship Program will be selected.
