Event Details
Cycling in the Arafura Games 2009 will consist of three main raod racing events; Road Race; Time Trial; and Criterium. Arafura events will be contested in both open age and junior categories. The junior categorie will require competitors to be 19yrs and under as at 31/12/09.
A Pre Competition managers meeting will be held on Tuesday 12th May from 5.30pm at Hidden Valley Race Track. Managers are asked to bring: Team lists, Para Cycling Competitor Assessments and Competitor Licences.
The Arafura Games will incorporate the Oceania Open Paralympic Championships.

Event Rules
All the events will be conducted by the Northern Territory Cycling Association in conjunction with the Darwin Cycling Club according to the rules of the UCI and Australian Cycling Federation (ACF). www.cycling.org.au
Entry shall be open to members of participating countries and properly registered member associations of the ACF. A three-event permit is available for non-licenced cyclists at a cost of $33.00 which must be applied for and completed at the Accreditation Meeting. Races may be combined if numbers are low to make an adequate race.

What about accommodation for my team and officials?
Darwin has a variety of accommodation to suit all budgets, tastes and special requirements. Almost all of Darwin's accommodation houses are located close to the Central Business District (CBD) and a short drive from sporting venues.
These range from five-star hotels, motels and apartments to backpacker-style accommodation. An accommodation service is now operating and can be viewed on the Games website at www.arafuragames.nt.gov.au.
