Event Details
Always one of the Arafura Games' most popular sports, the boxing competition will be open to male and female boxers aged over 17 years. Divisions range from light fly weight (48kg) to super heavy weight (+91kg). Each team will be permiited two boxers (boxer1 & boxer2) in each division. They cannont face each other until the final of that given division.
Amateur boxers are matched up according to their age, weight and experience. Boxers will compete over three x three minute rounds with a one minute rest in between rounds.
A Pre Competiton Managers Meeting will be held at the PINT Club, Marrara on Sunday 10th May from 5.30pm.

Event Rules
Weigh-in, draws and boxing will be conducted in accordance with Australian International Boxing Association (AIBA) and the rules of AUBA.
Weigh In will take place each competition day from 8am at the Darwin Entertainment Centre.
The draw will follow the first Weigh In on Monday 11th May at the Darwin Entertainment Centre.

When is the Boxing on?
The boxing begins on Monday 11 May and continues through to Friday 15 May.
Do we need a medical?
It is compulsory to have a full medical check before you compete. This should be done before arriving in Darwin. The doctor must fill out and sign the front of your medical/fight logbook.
What equipment do I need to bring with me?
You will need to provide your own mouth guard, groin protector and red and blue singlets. Proper shorts will need to be worn that do not go below the knees.
What is the weather condition like?
It will be the dry season, with warm days and cooler nights. It is recommended that you wear a hat and sunscreen and always carry water with you.
