New Look Hawks Nab Nagy For NBL1

The Ringwood Hawks Women’s team continues to re-tool with the signing of Adelaide’s Hajnal Nagy (pronounced Hi-Knoll) for the 2020 NBL1 season.

Nagy comes from a famous Adelaide basketball family and despite some injury challenges along the journey has put together an impressive basketball resume.

She was a South Australian Sports Institute Scholarship holder and SA Metro squad member in Under 18’s before playing Premier League for Southern Tigers, South Adelaide and West Adelaide. Nagy also had a stint as a squad member with the Adelaide Lightning in 2015 and has played 2 seasons in Europe.

Whilst still recovering from recent knee surgery, the 183cm Forward is working her way back to full fitness and will give the Hawks the added depth they need coming off the bench.

“Hajnal is still working her way back, but she will be a great addition to our team.” Coach Tim Mottin said.

“She is unselfish and works hard at both end of the floor. She is a good passer and an excellent rebounder.”

With the Hawks losing star Jacqui Trotto to an untimely knee injury, Nagy will be a welcome addition to a team that is looking to go a step or two further that their 3rd position in 2019.
