Rawson to Lead Hawks VYCW

The Committee of the Ringwood Basketball Association has announced the appointment of Shaun Rawson to the position of BigV Victorian Youth Championship Women’s Coach for 2020.

Rawson is already a popular figure around the Club due to his Junior Coaching duties and also his position as a member of the Hawks NBL1 Men’s team. Shaun was also a member of the Hawks 2012 State Championship winning team and also played SEABL with the Bendigo Braves.

Recently Rawson had decided that his playing days at the elite level were over and that he would be interested in taking his Coaching aspirations to the next level.

“I am incredibly excited for this opportunity and I have some massive shoes to fill after Rob (Dielemans) and the great work he did.” Rawson said.
“My role is pretty clear, to help these girls get to the next level, be that College, NBL1 or WNBL.”

The work will start now for Rawson who will announce a try out schedule for the 2020 Youth Women in the coming days. Details will be announced on all Hawks social media channels
