FRANKSTON BIG V TOURNAMENT

Many of Kilsyth Basketball's top referees travelled to Frankston on the Labour Day long weekend to officiate the Big V pre-season tournament. The Big V competition is the Victorian elite Senior competition and recognised as the next stepping stone, after Jnr VJBL competition, for the development of referees.

This tournament combines a pre-season tournament for Big V teams and Round 1 of the regular season for VYC teams (Victorian Youth Championship), last seasons "D League". Big V clubs treat this weekend very seriously as part of their preparation for the long Championship season and so does the Big V Referee Commission.

Usually referees invited to this tournament are experienced and first year Big V referees but our referees, after being observied in action at previous elite tournaments, were invited to attend and once again have done themselves and Kilsyth Basketball proud. Not only with their performance but their attention and enthusiasm to learn and improve their performance.

Congratulations to all our Kilsyth referees on their outstanding performance at Frankston. Keep it up!
