The following Representative Team Coaches for 2013 have been appointed by the UBA Board of Management.

Robbie Thompson returns for another year and following the success of the Men’s team in winning the 2012 N.W. B.U. Senior Men’s competition, he is hopeful of retaining the majority of the local players from last year’s team although Julian Norton has announced his retirement and Import Player Shawntes Gary will not be returning to the SEABL program this year. Lachie Barker has transferred over from Penguin to Ulverstone and Coach Thompson has been negotiating with a drive-in player from Launceston to bolster the team.

Robert Bourke resumes after a quite a number of years away from Coaching the Senior Women’s Team (first coached the Penguin Senior Women’s Team in 74-75 before moving back to Ulverstone ) and will be looking for returning seniors in Bianca Knott, Julie Best, Kristen Lovett and Jacki Munns to develop  the large group of Under 18 and Under 16 players all vying to play in the Senior Women’s Team.

Mitch Roberts former Burnie Junior Coach has transferred over to Ulverstone to Coach the Under 18 Girls team whilst Robbie Thompson will also be in charge of the Under 18 Men’s team, many of whom will also be playing in the Senior Men’s Team.

UBA Life Member and long serving Junior Coach Michael Keeley returns after  a few years away from Coaching to Coach the Under 16 boys and Kate O’Neil will again Coach the Under 16 Women’s Team.

Robert Bourke will also Coach the Under 14 girls team who won the Under 14 State Championship title this year and there will be 5 players from this squad returning to play next season.

David Munns, the UBA Coaching Co-ordinator  and former Women’s Team  Coach will also be Head Coach of the Ulverstone Under 14 Boys team and Penny Smith will again Coach the Under 12 Boys team as will Belinda Brocksopp who coached this  years Ulverstone Under 12  Girls Team to the NWBU Junior Intertown title.

The UBA Board of Management have expressed their delight in having so many experienced Coaches willing to be involved in the development of the local Junior players and it will allow the Association to be competitive in the forthcoming NWBU Intertown rosters.
