After the last roster games, in the Women’s Competition, Ulverstone finished first, followed by Somerset, Penguin and Wynyard fourth. Devonport missed out by only a few percent.

Burnie finished on top in the Men’s, followed by Penguin, Latrobe and Smithton fourth. Ulverstone missed out, after losing by only one point.

Wynyard women playing for their season prevailed in a nail biting performance to defeat Somerset by 3 points. Trailing by 8 points at three quarter time, the Heat made a late charge, but could not close the gap against the desperate Wildcats. Ellyse Gamble play well with a match high 15 points.

A poor last quarter by Penguin women stopped them from getting the second chance in the finals. With the Blues leading by 3 points at three quarter time, the Hoppers had a big last quarter scoring 22- 7 points. Sarah O’Neill was the standout player with 25 points.

Devonport had a comprehensive 52 point victory over Smithton, but was still not enough to bridge the gap with their percentage. Paige French led all scorers with 21 points.

Burnie women finished their season on a high with a 38 point victory over Latrobe. Offensively Hayley Shephard and Brooke Brown were the standout players both scoring 20 points.

Ulverstone men lost to Penguin in a heart breaker by only 1 point, resulting in them dropping out of the finals. A good crowd witnesses a high standard game which featured many lead changes. Harry O’Neill and Ryan Cook both had good games scoring 28 and 26 respectively.

For the first quarter and a half it looked like Burnie would continue their winning run. However, Latrobe started to get their offense running as well as creating defensive stops. With the crowd becoming vocal and the coaches passionate, Latrobe grabbed a 5 point lead with only 4 minutes to go. A big three pointer from Taz Armstrong and a fifth foul to Brady Armstrong enabled Burnie to get the points.

Smithton claimed fourth spot with a 10 point victory over Devonport. Hugh King used his size to dominate inside the point, while Brad Hardy led all scorers with 26 points.

Somerset men ended the season on a high with a 25 point victory over Wynyard. Tyler Coffey continued his good form with 22 points.
