The Smithton women recorded their first win of the season over Latrobe. A big first quarter, 16 – 3 set up the victory. Angel Clark played a great game scoring 20 points while Brooke Brown played a lone hand for Latrobe, top scoring with 25 points.

In one of the many close and exciting games for this round. Ulverstone women held off a fast finishing Somerset to record an important 2 point victory. Ulverstone have now claimed top spot. Somerset’s Calli Schumann was the standout player with a game high 20 points.

A big last quarter effort by Devonport, 21-11, enabled them to record a 2 point victory against the more fancied opponent, Penguin. In a high standard game, Taylor Mole and Bec Abel were the two players that stood-out offensively.

Wynyard keep their finals chances alive with a 10 point victory over Burnie. In a very good game, Ellyse Gamble was the standout player.

Somerset men had a great 2 point victory over Ulverstone. The Hoppers made a late run, but to Somerset’s credit they held their nerve. Tyler Coffey continued his good form, scoring 19 points.

In front of a good crowd, Smithton recorded an important 6 point win over the experienced Latrobe outfit. In an enthralling game that was well officiated, the Saints have keep their finals chances alive. Hugh King used his size to dominate inside the paint, while Brady Armstrong continued his scoring feast with 28 points.

Penguin were too strong for Devonport, running out 15 points winner. Fraser Eaton was back to his best with a 24 point haul. Nic Bingham contributed well for Devonport with 23 points.

Burnie continued on their winning way with a comprehensive 57 point victory over Wynyard. Isaac Plant dominated with 28 points.

Latrobe are at home to Ulverstone. The Hoppers will easily account for Latrobe in the women’s game.

The Men’s game will be enthralling. Ulverstone must keep winning to keep their finals chances alive, while Latrobe will be keen to atone for a disappointing loss.

Somerset travel to Devonport. Although, Somerset will start favourites, the Warriors will be very confident after their last great win. The highlight will be the clash between Sami Phillips and Taylor Mole.

Somerset men have started to find some form and it is going to be very hard to pick a winner. Perhaps this will be the first game to go into overtime.

Burnie take on Penguin at home. Penguin women will be favourites in his contest.

It will be a good test for the Penguin men to see how they perform against the undefeated Tigers. Penguin will need to be on song from beyond the arc if they are going to be a chance.

Wynyard have the trip to Smithton. The Wildcat women should win this game and keep their finals chances alive.

After their last big win, Smithton men will take the points against Wynyard and help to cement a place in the top four.
