The match of the round was the Somerset versus Ulverstone women’s game. Somerset in a close, exciting game, managed a one point victory over the top placed Ulverstone team. Sammi Phillips dominated the game, scoring a game high 24 points. It appears it is going to be a very close contest during the final series for the women.

Penguin’s high shooting percentage, combined with the many turnovers that Smithton women made, led to an easy victory for Penguin. Rebecca Abel led all scorers with 20 points.

Wynyard women were out of the bocks early and never allowed the young Devonport team any chance of getting back into the game. It was a very good team effort by the Wildcats.

As expected Burnie women had a convincing victory over the young Latrobe team. Taylor Mole display her all-round skills, scoring a game high 20 points.

The undefeated Burnie men, made a clear statement by beating the serious title contenders Latrobe, in a convincing manner. Burnie took control of the game in the third quarter. Joe Chilcott continued his good form scoring a game high21 points.

In a fast paced, even game for the first half, Penguin men got out to a ten point lead in the third quarter. Smithton tried but could not bridge the gap. Ryan Cook had his best offensive game of the season, top scoring with an impressive 31 points.

In a fast and physical game, Devonport men were too strong for the young Wynyard team. Young Liam Jaffray of Wynyard had a great game scoring a game high 27 points.

Somerset men took it right up to Ulverstone. It was only in the second quarter that Ulverstone managed to get a match winning lead. For the rest of the game, very little separated the two teams. Harry O’Neill had his best game of the season scoring an outstanding 37 points.
