Bullets fire at Country Championships

The under 18 men, under 16 boys and under 14 girls division one T&R Murray Bridge Bullets are SA Country Champions.

The U/18B and U/14G teams won their respective age groups at the Country Championships in Adelaide from March 7 to 9. The Under 18 men had a close game with Strathalbyn, coming out winners by eight points; 55-47.

The Under 14 Girls played out an extremely tight, physical match against Mildura where, after a controversial five point loss (33-38) in the minor rounds, the Bullets girls dug deep to win the Grand Final 41-36.

The Under 16 Boys competed on the 28th and 29th of March, and after some close games through the preliminary rounds found themselves up against Strathalbyn in the Grand Final. In what was an incredibly tense game, Bullets struggles to shake off the Storm, and Keedan Rigney going down with severe cramping didn't help the cause. However, the boys kept their heads high, and managed to win 55-53, and become State Champions.

Congratulations is given to all Murray Bridge teams for their efforts at the Championships and for their commitment to the 2008/09 season.
