Under 12 Girls

The T&R Bullets under 12 girls started the Championships slowly against Millicent who played with great defensive intensity. The first half hurt the girls chances who despite outscoring the Magic in the second half lost the game 32-11.

Broken Hill shot well and put the Bullets under pressure in the opening to their game. The girls tried hard all game and again their second half was much better almost outscoring the eventual champions before losing 38-16.

A slow start against Whyalla was again the problem. Bullets had control of the ball but could not buy a basket and trailed by 10 at quarter time. Bullets fought hard and closed the gap in the last quarter with another second half effort outscoring their opponents but unfortunately still lost 21-10.

Bullets started with good defensive pressure against Yorke Valley who were the top team in the other group. Bullets opened the scoring in the second quarter with great team passing. Good running play saw Bullets have the majority of the play but unfortunately they could not finish off with points. Against quality opposition the Bullets saved their best game until last but lost 31-13 with some late baskets to the Yorkers.

Jacinta Thompson and Ashley Dougall worked hard in defence and made some great baskets. Emma Jacobs-Barden played with aggression and read the ball well. Rhiannon Yates made some excellent drives to the basket. Tia-Jae Conway-Jeansch & Helene Altmann played some strong defence and worked well on the rebounds. Sharnique Seidel & Emily Paech carried the ball well and worked hard in defence.

Despite not winning a game the girls showed great character to keep working and to outscore most of their opposition in the second halves. They never gave up and did their best to represent their association.
