The Murray Bridge Basketball Association was very well represented at the selections held in Gawler on the 24th & 25th November, with a large number of junior athletes vying for selection in all of the age groups. Feedback from S.A Country officials indicated that the skills and quality of all the Murray Bridge players who tried out was of a high standard.

Brayden Dalitz and Dylan Hollitt get their first bite at the Country Cup in Albury, the pair selected in the Under 14 SAC teams.
Gemma Leonard is Murray Bridge’s only representative in the SA Magpies under 14 Girls team.
Jake Salter and Chad Wingard made the cut for the under 16 squads. Salter will play in the Magpies team and Wingard will line up for the Sharks.
Kelly Altmann and Libby Frazer have both scored a gig in the SA Sharks under 16 girls team.
The SAC Magpies under 18 men team have secured the services of Jordan Hollit and Aiden Westlake.
Paul Salter has also been reappointed as head coach of the 18 Men's squad.
A number of local players were selected as reserves for the SAC teams.
The AJBCC
is attended by country representative teams from New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland and New Zealand and will be celebrating its 22nd year in 2008.

The Pacific Coast Slam starts on January 21, with several talented locals included in South Australian teams.
Keedan Rigney and Brad Hartman will line up for the SAC under 15 boys team, while Alex Wilson and Nikki Dougall made the cut for the girls side.
Wilson’s father Bill has been appointed assistant coach for the girls team.
It is the first time S.A Country will send a boys and girls team to the PSC tournament in the under 15 age group.
Sending athletes to these tournaments provides an opportunity for South Australian Country regional junior athletes to experience representative selection, and to underpin and strengthen the overall SA Country program.
Meanwhile, two local referees will also attend the Country Cup.
Brett Johns and Sam Le-Gallou will return to the event for their second and fifth respective appearances.
