Carnival Draws Released

The T&R Murray Bridge Bullets Under 12 Girls will take on Great Southern in the opening match of next weekend's local junior carnival.

The draw for the tournament was released this morning, with several other exciting fixtures scheduled for the opening day, Saturday October 2.

While the local Under 12 Girls team will play the Slammers first up and later Mount Gambier in somewhat of a small pool; the under 14 Boys competition is thriving with 14 nominations. Ten of these teams have been separated into two groups in division one, with Murray Bridge up against a tough Norwood Red side early on Saturday. The Bullets second division side will begin their campaign against Eastern Hills.

The under 18 men’s and under 18 women’s competitions look tough on paper, with the latter welcoming a team from Bordertown. The two local men’s teams coached by Mark Young and Steve Hein warm up with a match against each other at 9.20am.

Both local Under 16 Boys teams are scheduled with red-eye matches at 8.30am and take on Eastern Hills and Strathalbyn respectively. The Under 12 Boys get their weekend underway at the same time at the High School and the South Primary School.

The Bullets Under 14 Girls teams both play Mount Gambier first up on day one, the Kris Dalitz-led A-team scheduled on court at 10.10am, before Lorelle Barton's group play at 1.30pm.

The Division 1 Under 16 Girls have a lunchtime fixture against Great Southern first up, while the Division 2 girls play later in the day.

Matches continue Sunday with finals scheduled on Monday. Spectator admission is free.
