Bullets 9th Basketball Carnival

On the October long weekend the Murray Bridge Basketball Association (MBBA) will hold its 9th
Annual Junior basketball carnival. The carnival is put on by the Bullets Junior Basketball
Committee and is proudly supported by major sponsors, Thomas Foods International (formally
T&R) and Development Answers.

Over the weekend around 240 Games will be played at three locations Murray Bridge High
School on Lohmann Street; Unity College on Owl Drive and at the Basketball stadium situated at
the Murray Bridge show grounds. There will be about 92 Teams from 12 Associations, attending from all around the state, some from as far away as Mt Gambier and Whyalla. Games will cover from Under 12 to Under 23. The Under 23 section was added to the competition last year with Under 23 Men and proved to be very popular, due to the high skill level involved and the very physical nature of the games played.

This year for the first time Under 23 Women have been added to the program and we
hope it will become as popular as the Men’s division. Other new teams to the line up include Willunga with one team and Whyalla who are bringing across 3 teams, with Barossa returning to the Bridge for another go at titles in Under 14 boys. Yorke Valley and Eastern Hills are bringing a staggering 14 and 16 teams respectively. While Strathalbyn with 12 teams, matches the 12 Bullets teams entered, closely followed in number by Mt Gambier with 10 teams. Other Associations in the line up include Great Southern, Millicent, Woodville and Forestville.

Come and support great local Basketball over the 3 day long week.  Games should prove to be fast exciting and of a high level of play, with all players fighting to gain top spots over the weekend.  There is free entry to all games, with food and drink available at most venues.  Finals to be held over the Monday and these will be the games not to miss as the action really heats up.
