Rollers ready in USA: Player diary

17th June 2008

Today we trained twice at the playing facilities which are the best we have been to. They consist of three courts with an indoor running track around them. If there is one stadium you could compare this to, it is Shellharbour Stadium that the Wollongong High Lube Roller Hawks use!!

Today’s sessions were used to blow the cob webs out and try and to get over our jet lag.

We had an early start today with the alarm clocks going off at 6:30am in preparation for an early start so we could squeeze three sessions in. The sessions ran for 1 and a half to 2 hours each. Most of the guys are a bit tired and weary after today but it helped us get to learn each other’s habits and we are gelling together nicely.

We then headed back to the hotel for a recovery session consisting of plenty of water and ice baths. We are now heading down for dinner in the hotel restaurant, hoping for a change in the repetitive limited menu which we have to choose from.

(There are only so many times you can eat a hamburger and chips.)

The boys are pumped for another couple of sessions tomorrow and then can't wait to hit the court on Friday playing the world’s best teams.

Sticky and Tristo.
