Ronald McDonald is coming to Broken Hill and will be at Auskick on Friday June 14th from 4.30pm to have some fun with the kids.
Local franchisee Mark Craven is a passionate supporter of the Ronald McDonald House in Adelaide and is encouraging the local football community to help him raise some funding for the "Room Rescue" Program.
Ronald McDonald House Adelaide is an independant, not for profit organisation that provides practical assistance to families whose seriously ill children are receiving treatment at the Women's & Childrens Hospital.
Situated in North Adelaide the House is spread across two sites, both in close proximity of the Hospital which allows patients to only be in hospital for treatment sessions.
More than 70 Volunteers assist with the upkeep of both sites, 24/7, incuding making meals, shopping for personal items for patients and providing emergency support.
The Room Rescue program provides organistations an opportunity to sponsor a bedroom to assist with the make over and the rooms ongoing maintenance.
Each Room Rescue sponsorship is $7,700 for 3 year/s to sponsor an individual bedroom in the original house which has accommodated 2000 families equating to 55,000 bed nights.
Mark Craven is passionately wanting to raise the $7,700 in 3 years or less and encourages the BH Community to donate a gold coin on the Auskick night, which is usually a free event. Collection tins will be at the ground.
Activities will continue on the Saturday with some of the Clubs wearing special socks to mark the day. The Umpires may also be wearing yet another top for the day in some grades said Mr Craven.
