U12 Boys

Geelong 39 defeated Diamond Valley 28

Top scorers: Jordan O’Leary 15, Cohen Blythe 10, Lachlan Morwood 9

Midway through the 3rd quarter we led by only 6 points, the boys rallied in defence and pushed the margin out to a comfortable 11 point win.

U14 Boys

Geelong 46 lost to Diamond Valley 52

U16 Boys

Geelong 42 lost to Melbourne 44

Top scorers: M. Pigott 12, A. Ferrante 11, Nick Quail 6

This was a tough fought contest from start to finish that saw Geelong come back from 10 points down with 3 minutes to play and tie the scores with 16 seconds remaining. A good offensive finish put Melbourne in front by 2 points and left Geelong with one shot for the win with 1.5 seconds on the clock. It was a great attempt for 3 points and the win rimmed out leaving Melbourne with a challenged 2-point victory.    

U 18 Boys

Geelong 66 lost to Diamond Valley 67

Top scorers: Marcus Larcombe 22, Lewis Varley 13, Andre Garcey 12

Geelong were 2 points down at quarter time, 4 points up at half time and 7 points up at three quarter time and drawing away. It was fair to say that Geelong controlled the game for most of the match.

With 16 seconds to go we were 1 point up but were not able to hold them and they walked away with a one point win.

U16 Girls

Geelong 48 defeated Dandenong (2) 44

Top scorers: Emily Koroneos 19, Chloe Palmer 11, Bryanna Kloosterman 8

Geelong made it two wins its past three games, beating Dandenong (2) 48-44 on the road with a gritty 32-minute performance.

U18 Girls

Geelong 49 defeated Knox (2) 35

Victorian Junior League 1

U12 Girls

Geelong 57 defeated Bulleen (3) 4

Top scorers: C. Horvat 16, H. Robinson 10, S. Savickas 8

Although the girls weren’t challenged in the game they did push themselves to maintain defensive pressure and worked hard to maintain and execute our offence.

U18 Boys (2)

Geelong 52 defeated Broadmeadows 48

U20 Boys

Geelong 69 defeated Bulleen 60

It was an important win for the Cats as they extended their winning streak to three. A slow start saw the boys down 19-10 early, but rallied from then on thanks to the composure of point guard Emerson Varley and tough work in the paint by big man Lachlan Headlam.

U14 Girls

Geelong 31 drew with Camberwell 31

Top scorers: J. Fazio 13, N. Slaven 6, A. Scott 4

A game that fluctuated but resulted in a frustrating second drew in a row.  Great defensive game by the girls and soon they will get the shooting, foul shots and defensive working in sync to win these tight ones.
