Do you want the Supercats to visit your school??
Presented by the St Laurence Geelong Supercats and Basketball Geelong in conjunction with McDonalds 2011 Primary Schools Visitation Program
Basketball Geelong and the St Laurence Geelong Supercats have a long and proud history. One of the key objectives of our organisations is to provide the children from the City of Greater Geelong and its surrounding districts with a sporting and social infrastructure that:
- promotes and encourages participation for children of all abilities.
- provides a healthy lifestyle and safe environment.
- creates a recreational atmosphere that is enjoyable.
- encourages participants to develop their social skills.
- creates opportunities for community organizations to collaborate with us and get their message a wide audience
Combined Basketball Geelong and The St Laurence Geelong Supercats have a membership of over 3,000
As you may be aware, we have been offering a school’s program for the past 5 years. In 2010 we had 18 primary schools participating in our program with approximately 2,000 children involved. Our aim is to deliver an even better program in 2011, and offer children the opportunity of joining our local domestic basketball club competition and/or one of our after school basketball development programs.
In 2011 we will be offering a two phased schools program:
Phase 1 - In School visitation program
Senior Geelong Supercat Players and Representative Coaches participate in class room activities and conduct basketball clinics
Phase 2 – In Stadium clinic at either The Geelong Arena, Try Boys or Leisuretime Centre
Senior Geelong Supercat Players and Representative Coaches conduct a one day “in house” activities program from 10.00am – 2.00pm
Both phases of the program are open to all primary school and junior high school children and can be tailored to suit the individual needs of a Prep year student right through to a Grade 8 student. Please note that Phase 1 clinics are delivered at no cost to your school.
The exception to this being in Phase 2 - the cost of transportation to and from the Basketball Stadium will need to be covered by the school.
If you would like to know more about the program please contact Beth at the Geelong Supercats on 5277 1711 or email beth@supercats.com.au

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
