Basketball Geelong athletes make U18 State Side
Three Basketball Geelong juniors have been selected to represent Country Victoria at the 2008 Under-18 men’s and women’s national championships.
Oliver Holland, Ellie Stevens and Chantelle Brockett were picked for the teams after a demanding four-day camp in Ballarat, where 44 athletes from all over country Victoria fought to be noticed by selectors and coaches.
Maddison Kohler was also picked as emergency for the Under-18 women’s team.
Basketball Geelong general manager Amy Hawthorne said: ``This is a great achievement for these young athletes. We wish them all the very best for the national titles in July.’’
