Coach’s Comment: “Played at Werribee as a Geelong home game we lacked the intensity to defend on a fast break and made too many fundamental errors resulting in a half-time score of 28-21. The game was close all night but the boys could not bridge the gap going down by 10 points to an opponent that played better as a team on the night. A serious injury during the third quarter coinciding with the fact we were down one player already made for a tough result that puts our chances of being accepted into the Melbourne Classic Tournament at risk.”

Coach’s Comment: “Basketball the game does not build character, it reveals it. The true test of character is being able to do the ordinary things at extra-ordinary times. Things such as making foul shots when the game demands it, getting a stop on defence down the stretch and making good decisions when the result is on the line. Being able to stand up in a bruising encounter, like Friday night, will also go a long way to building the strength in character that we strive for. A great team effort by all players.”

Coach’s Comment: “A good whole-team performance. We played well with whichever five was on the court. A fantastic defensive effort made sure the opposition didn’t get to the basket with any finesse, and we responded at the other end creating our own scoring opportunities.”

Top Scorers: B. Carey 13, A. Stone 10
Coach’s Comment: "A fairly scrappy affair. Once we put body-on-body inside the paint, we minimised our opponent's offensive rebounds. We then managed a lot of easy transition baskets and that was enough for the win."
