Under 16 Boys Round 4
Geelong Cats 58 def. Eltham 22
Top Scorers: B. Mayes 10, G. Blagojevic 9, R. Kennedy 8, A. Giles 8
Coach’s Comment: “A tough start for both teams saw little scoring in the first quarter, however we kept our opponents scoreless in the second quarter while we powered to handy a half time lead. A strong team performance by the boys over three quarters was enough to earn them a solid away win.”
Under 16 Girls Round 4
Geelong Cats 44 lost to Ballarat 75
Top Scorers: Not supplied
Coach’s Comment: “A trip to Ballarat with a small roster due to injuries, and another shortly into the game, had the girls chasing tails all night. Unfortunately the end score does not truly reflect the effort put in. Huge efforts by Stacey, Bronte and Emma all night kept us in with a faint glimmer until our legs gave out in the third quarter. All in all, a very hard night at the office.

Under 14 Girls Round 4
Geelong Cats 40 lost to Dandenong (2) 52
Top Scorers: S. Savickas 10, C. Horvat 9, S. Rainbow 9
Coach’s Comment: Started off very well but our girls were beaten most of the night by a team that wanted it more than us. Again basic mistakes were costly. Some good defensive efforts and too few flashes of quick transition were positives.
Under 12 Boys Round 4
Geelong Cats 27 lost to Eltham 53
Top Scorers: H. Marshall 14, L. Hanley 4, L. Hill 3
Coach’s Comment: “A full court press rattled us in the first quarter. Boys toughed it out and made the game much more of a contest after quarter time but damage was already done. “
Under 12 Girls Round 4
Geelong Cats 49 def. Nunawading 25
Top Scorers: Z. McKeegan 14, Q. Murphy 12, O. Virt 8
Coach’s Comment: “Nunawading (2) played a competitive game with us up to three-quarter time. Nunawading was more aggressive and took the initiative until we found the basket in the last quarter, outscoring them 25-1, to come away with a comfortable win.”
Victorian Junior League One
Under 18 Boys Round 2
Geelong Cats 44 lost to Eltham 61
Top Scorers: J. Landale 9, J. Evans 8, X. Pierce 8 points.
Coach’s Comment: “We started well and it was a close game to half time, however good transition offence and our lack of desire to defence the ball carrier or key way allowed Eltham to score freely in the second half. Our lack of defensive effort after half time coupled with poor shooting options allowed Eltham to quickly establish a comfortable lead and run out the game easy winners. A more concerted team effort is required this week if we are to be competitive against Frankston.”

Top Scorers: N. Lemke 13, Z. Moore 11, D. Duggan 8
Coach’s Comment: “A much better game this week. Constant, consistent intensity was reflective of the high foul count, and with excellent rebounding from everyone kept us well in front the whole game. Great to see us get in the groove and wearing away the opposition.”
