Venom Beat Melton - Now For Blackburn

Warrandyte's Big V preparation is on track with dual wins against Melton on Sunday February 22 adding to wins already recorded against Darebin, Ringwood and Mornington. Next on the agenda is a clash against Blackburn at Slater Reserve on Sunday March 1st from 3pm.

The games against Melton again showcased the depth of Venom's emerging young talent. In all, 14 players stepped on the court for Warrandyte in two three-quarter games. The shooting was exceptional from the start as all players found their range. Rebounding was again a key strength, as was Venom's pressure in defence.

Despite the loss of Jess Oram with a minor thumb injury during warm-ups, the Venom quickly settled in with Janelle Lucas, Sally Phillips, Jaz Borella and Sharlene Dalsanto all playing well, while the likes of Nicolette Prior, Lauren Sabidussi, Meg Dargan and Ash Brobbel played significant minutes.

In another sign of the future, 13-year old Kahlia Flett made her senior debut, scoring 13 points and taking numerous rebounds.
