What is Uni League Basketball?

Uni League Basketball is a basketball league that offers Australian university students an opportunity to participate in basketball in an environment that is conducive to an academic lifestyle.
Uni League Basketball will operate as a home and away competition in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, ACT, Western Australia and South Australia that will culminate in a national tournament. It will provide opportunities for basketball athletes to compete at a high level without conflicting with other commitments that are common to the student athlete. Not just for athletes, Uni League Basketball will offer opportunities for other members of the university community to participate in basketball.
In 2007, Uni League Basketball will operate a 6 team men's pilot competition. The invited universities are La Trobe, Melbourne, Monash, Deakin, Swinburne and RMIT. The competition will be held at Boorondara Sports Complex, Balwyn on Friday afternoons between 1pm and 4pm.
The Victorian pilot competition will help create a model that will be launched nationally in 2008 for men and women.
