Canterbury Basketball is seeking applications for Board Members, including an Independent Chair.

Board Members are appointed or elected for three year terms, and can serve for a maximumm of two consecutive terms.
The Board is comprised of seven members, and there are potentially three vacancies at the next AGM in March 2018 (1 by appointment, 2 subject to election).

Organisational Details:
The Canterbury Basketball Association is responsible for the administration of amateur basketball within the greater Christchurch Region. The CBA serves over 6500 registered players, and 200 volunteer referees, coaches and administrators. The CBA administers primary and high school competitions, a 120 team weekend club competition, a representative program from u13 through to u23, and the Alloyfold Canterbury Wildcats team in the Women’s Basketball Championship. The CBA also works closely with the Canterbury Regional Basketball Foundation (Rams) who deliver a number of representative and training programmes on behalf of the CBA. In addition, the CBA runs referee and coach development programs, in-school and after school skills sessions,
and a social inclusion program called Midnight Basketball. The CBA currently has a staff of five, and operates from an office at the Bishopdale YMCA. The CBA is in a very sound financial position, and is coming to the end of its current threeyear Strategic Plan in 2018.
