August 2 and 3 Duty and Gametimes

a- MU20 Wolves v Shirley moved to Cowles; Pioneer v St Thomas’ to YMCA
b- MU20 Gators v MG swaps courts at Cowles
Please note the following regarding duty:
- Traditional Duty at Cowles and YMCA on Saturday
- Flip Flop at St. Bede’s on Saturday
- Flip Flop at Cowles on Sunday
- Fines have been applied to teams which have not fulfilled their duty responsibility.
- Women’s Premier has a scheduled week off – due to the WBC – keep an eye on http://sportwebcasts.com/ to watch some of the games there!
- Games held at the YMCA begin 30 minutes later than listed in the left hand column.
FIBA RULE CLARIFIACTION:
It has come to our attention that some teams are mistakenly trying to score as many points as possible vs the weaker teams in their competition, to have a good “points percentage”. Please note that teams are given final standings based on the following:
- Competition points (i.e. 2 points for a win, 1 for a loss)
- Head to head record between tied teams
- Points differential between two tied teams, if they have an even record (i.e. 1-1)
How much a team defeats a team by at the bottom of the standings has no bearing on FIBA tiebreakers, so in the interest the spirit of the game we ask that teams and coaches try and avoid embarrassing their opponents.
